How much would you pay for Toronto Maple Leaf tickets

I recently discovered at work that my company is offering Toronto Maple Leaf hockey tickets to a select set of games this year. Although, the Toronto Maple Leaf recently accounced, a 5% rollback on tickets this year, they are still one of the most expensive sporting events to see in North America.

The cost of the ticket being offered is $180.00. It includes:
  • Ticket to the game
  • VIP entrance and private elevator
  • Sports fan buffet
Is it worth it to spend this much money on a hockey game?

The most expensive tickets for a night of opera at the Hummingbird Centre would set you back $195. And that doesn't even come with the sports fan buffet!

I've once caught a Raptors game in a corporate lounge at the ACC. You can't see much because you're too high off the court. You do get pampered with catered food and drinks, along with couches and big screen TVs for the close-up.

Whether it is worth the price depends on how much of a Leafs fan you are. :)

In the (relatively) free market world we live in, the price of most things, including Leafs tickets, is a factor of the supply/demand equation. The question isn't whether it's worth it, but whether it's worth it for you.

The popularity of the Toronto Maple Leafs in Toronto has resulted in ticket prices well above what an average fan can pay for. The question to me is weather the tickets have enough value to justify the cost. Given the rise of gas prices, car insurance rates, and my hefty 407 bill, I would rather sit at home and watch the hockey game with some daal, naan and tandoori chicken.

That's just wrong. Tandoori and hockey DO NOT go together. What kind of a Canadian are you?!

LOL, it has been so long seen I have watched a hockey game, I have forgotten my Canadian roots. Hence, it will be hockey and spice-less tandoori chicken, that is a little more Canadian.
